Q: What are the typical hourly wages at Braun's Painting?

A: Entry level wages for candidates with no residential painting experience and very little working experience period, will range from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on the nature of your other work experience, documented talent, skills training and/or education. The starting wages for candidates with no residential painting experience, but significant overall working experience, will range from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour depending upon the nature of your working experience and potential as a future leader.  The starting wages for Professional Painters with experience can range from $18.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on the nature and years of experience.  Wages for hourly leadership positions are negotiable.

Q: Does Braun's Painting offer any benefits?

A: We offer a 401K program with a company match up to 5%. We offer company sponsored health insurance, paid sick time, and paid holidays. Typical paid holidays are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Employees may substitute other holidays due to religious beliefs.

Q: Do Braun's Painting employees have insurance coverage?

A: Yes, all of our employees are on company payroll and are covered by worker's comp insurance, disability insurance, NY Paid Family Leave, and we contribute 50% of our employees Social Security and Medicare contributions.

Q: What are the typical working hours at Braun's Painting?

A: The typical work week is Monday-Friday, with starting times ranging from 7:30-8:15 AM and closing time ranging from 3:30-5:30 PM depending on job related factors.  There may be occasional work opportunities on Saturday, which in most cases are optional.  Typical weekly hour totals are between 35-40 hours with occasional overtime.

Q: Is there an age minimum or limit to work at Braun's Painting?

A: We are an equal opportunity employer, but do require that prospective employees are at least 18 years of age.  Beyond that, we encourage interested candidates of all backgrounds and ages to apply.

Q: What are the physical requirements to work at Braun's Painting?

A: Candidates must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds, and be physically fit to wear a respirator when required.  We pay for all employees to get a respiratory health exam and annual fit test for required masks and respirators.  Candidates must be comfortable working from ladders at reasonable heights.

Q: Do employees need to climb ladders at very high heights?

A: All prospective employees will be expected to work with step ladders up to 10' high and extension ladders up to 20' high.  Our employees are trained on the proper and safe use of ladders and are brought along carefully to build up their comfort level on ladders.  As Professional Painters are developed, they may acquire the ability to climb on extension ladders up to 40', work on scaffolding, roofs, and operate lift equipment.  Working at these heights is not required of all employees, but Professional Painters who acquire this skill set are able to achieve added compensation and status.

Q: Do employees work inside or outside?

A: We work both inside homes and on the exterior of homes as weather allows.  Approximately 75% of our work is residential interior and we work on these projects all year round. 

Q: What is the drug and alcohol policy at Braun's Painting?

A: We have a no tolerance policy for alcohol, drug, and/or substance use during working hours.  You are not allowed to be intoxicated in any fashion or be in possession of any substance (legal or otherwise) while working. Violation of this policy will lead to immediate termination.

Q: Are employees allowed to smoke on the jobsite?

A: Any employees who wish to smoke, vape, or chew tobacco and/or nicotine products during working hours must do so discreetly during assigned break times and away from open view of customers. Tobacco use is not allowed while working, inside any properties, or near entry ways, windows or in view of customers or neighbors. Smoking is not permitted inside our office or in company vehicles.

Q: Does Braun's Painting provide training?

A: Yes, all new employees are provided paid training during the onboarding process where we will cover the employee handbook, safety training, harassment training, skills training, product and tool training, and an introduction to our standard operating procedures.

Q: Does Braun's Painting offer opportunities for advancement?

A: Yes, we have various tiers of Professional Painters and the compensation brackets are adjusted according to skill and experience. Additionally, all employees may wish to strive for roles as a Team Leader, Project Foreman, or more. All employees are coached with a written development plan to achieve their career goals and these are reviewed on a quarterly basis.  We have mid-year and annual reviews to assess progress, performance, and opportunities for advancement and wage increases.
